As practicing sustainability is the main focus behind the brand, it is important to let the customer know what this means for OCHIO. It is a constant exercise to search for local materials and local businesses to work with, it is an effort to find ways of working with the community to reuse and recycle instead of “buying new”, and always keeping the waste to a minimum, everything from the process of jewelry making to the final packaging.

All pieces are hand made to order with care by me in my home studio in Brooklyn, which means there is no stock therefore minimal waste. Pieces are cast into recycled metals by family owned and operated business in the heart of the jewelry district in NYC. Scraps of metal are melted down to create new pieces. Gemstones are ethically sourced and cut by hand by local gemologists. All pieces are packaged with love in FSC ® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified boxes.
